The rapid technological breakthroughs that have shaped the educational environment in recent years, combined with the global pandemic, have sparked a wave of digitalization in the business. From classroom learning to online learning sessions, there was a substantial paradigm shift.

It was difficult for the educational Institutions & children to cope with the changes. The government educational institutions had made it a bit more difficult, and the reason can be attributed to the lack of technological infrastructure and proper resource availability at such short notice in comparison to private schools. However, it is critical that the education being offered throughout the country is uniformly updated and is at par with the norms of the day. Looking at the changes the pandemic has brought in, there certainly was a need to improve the infra & resource structure at the government educational institutions.

EdTech companies, in recent times, have proved to be helpful in this regard. State government can collaborate with the Edtech companies to alleviate the educational infrastructure at government educational institutions.

Some ways in which private EdTech companies can improve the quality of education of government schools are discussed as follows-

Efficient solutions– Private EdTech companies can work with the government to provide easily accessible and affordable technological solutions in the academic processes. Though the government has already led the digital awareness at schools by introducing technology in the classrooms, till a few days back technology solutions were not considered easy to use in government schools. The changed education scenario from offline learning shifted completely to online learning because of the circumstances caused by the pandemic. This shift was not easy for the government educational institutions as the whole pedagogy changed. But it was the collaborative effort of government and private Edtech companies which made it possible to continue education even during the pandemic times with the help of technology enabled learning solutions.

Considering the same the Edtech companies have been designing solutions which are highly user friendly & cost effective & can elevate the level of education. Looking at the usage capacity of Indian government schools, the solutions should be highly acclimatized to the Indian environmental conditions which could perform longer & would be value for money.

Technical training of Teachers- Merely infusing technology in the school operations would not be enough. It is only by properly training the teachers who would be implementing the changes that the desired benefits of the move can be realized.

Thus, it is essential for private EdTech firms to help train the teachers to use technology and utilize the technical tools optimally. This would aid the benefits as derived from the infusion of technology into educational processes and ensure maximum utilization of technology.

Further, not just the teachers, but the students too need to receive guidance and training such as language development training to be able to connect with mainstream education. A way of achieving this can be to provide content in regional languages for better connection. Content in a student’s native language can help them to become more open to the idea of digital education and can enhance their overall experience.

Enhancing the target area- government and non-government organizations can also connect with Private EdTech firms to further the area covered in terms of improvement of education. The scope of improving the education scenario of the government schools can also include technical and non-technical infrastructural enhancements and upgradation of the curriculum. Further, advanced technology-enabled skill development courses can also be taught in the classroom as a part of a digital skill enhancement program.

Summing up

It is the right of every student throughout the country to receive an education that is easily accessible and affordable for them. The government needs to improve the quality of education being extended to the students. They can do the same by partnering with private EdTech companies and enhancing the scope of technological use in the educational processes. It will allow students to learn at their own pace without the barriers of time and distance.
